HENRICO, Va., Sept. 11, 2025 — Less than an hour of time every week could make the 2025-26 school year an incredible one for students in Henrico County Public Schools. The Henrico HEROES program is still seeking adult mentors at various schools, and three training sessions remain for parents, guardians, family members and others in the community looking to make a positive impact for our students this year.
Becoming a Henrico HEROES mentor is easy. Mentors complete an application, undergo a background check and attend a two-hour training session. They then meet with their student once a week for 30-45 minutes from October to May and participate in a programwide kickoff and end-of-year celebration.
Interested in joining Henrico HEROES? Complete the application at https://tinyurl.com/Apply4HEROES, then sign up for one of the following virtual or in-person training sessions:
Saturday, Sept. 13: 10 a.m.-noon (virtual)
Wednesday, Sept. 17: 4:30-6:30 p.m. at
The Oak Avenue Complex
15 S. Oak Ave., Henrico, VA 23075Saturday, Sept. 20: 10 a.m.-noon (virtual)
