MISSION Elko Middle School is a comprehensive middle school in Henrico County Public Schools. We aim to inspire educational excellence among all students in their journey from middle to high school. ATTENDANCE UPDATES | Attendance: We are seeing an increase in absences due to students being out of town. Please keep in mind that absences due to being out of town are unexcused. When a student reaches 5 unexcused absences, the parent/guardian will be contacted to schedule an attendance meeting. This will also occur when a student reaches 10 unexcused absences. Please refer to our Attendance Flier for information regarding reporting absences, early dismissals, and attendance letters. Please note that attendance letters are sent out regarding both excused and unexcused absences, as well as suspensions. EARLY DISMISSAL REMINDER: The cut off time for early dismissals is 2:30pm. COUNSELOR'S CORNER | Course Selection The course selection window for next year is open! It will remain open until 11:59pm on Sunday, January 26th. Please log into PowerSchool to look at your student’s course selections. You must use the website version of PowerSchool to view course requests, you cannot use the app. Here are directions about how to select classes: Course Request Selection through Parent Portal now what session they would like to attend. Elko Learning Lab During Q3 the learning lab will be offering grade recovery for students who earned a F in a core class during Q1 or Q2. This will only be offered during Q3. The Learning Lab will start on Tuesday, November 12th. It will be offered on Tuesdays and Thursdays either before school (7-8am) or after school (3:30 to 4:30pm).
